Awareness Campaign Highlights Voluntary Social Security Scheme and Economic Protection
A joint awareness campaign on the Voluntary Social Security Scheme was organized with the participation of the National Team for Iraqi Women and Al-Sadeem Organization for Women Empowerment, in cooperation with Friends of the Ministry of Interior and traffic personnel. The initiative aimed to raise awareness of the scheme’s importance in expanding social protection coverage, particularly for women and individuals working outside the public sector.
The campaign focused on outlining the general mechanisms for voluntary enrollment and clarifying its role in strengthening long-term economic stability for individuals and families. The scheme was presented as a strategic financial safeguard that helps mitigate social and economic risks over time.
The event included introductory sessions and direct engagement activities addressing the value of early social security planning, especially for groups not covered by traditional pension systems. The initiative reflects a collaborative approach between civil society organizations and supporting entities to enhance community awareness and institutional partnership.
Organizers noted that the campaign is part of a broader awareness framework aimed at strengthening legal and social literacy, promoting economic resilience, and supporting sustainable social protection pathways for targeted groups.
