Thousands of Top Graduates and Advanced-Degree Holders Protest in Baghdad, Demand Government Jobs

Thousands of top graduates, holders of advanced academic degrees and long-waiting graduates took part in a protest in the Al-Alawi area of Baghdad early in the morning, demanding the allocation of government job positions and solutions to the stalled public-sector recruitment process.
The protesters called for employment opportunities, citing years of waiting and repeated demands for appointments. They urged the relevant government authorities and the Prime Minister’s Office to take action to address the issue and respond to their demands.
The demonstration coincided with heightened security measures around Al-Tayaran Square and the Al-Alawi area. Traffic congestion was also reported in the vicinity due to the large number of people attending the protest.
