Final Round of Poetry and Public Speaking Competition Launched for Karbala Schools
The Department of School Activities at the Karbala Education Directorate has launched the final stage of the Poetry and Public Speaking Competition for students across all educational levels in Karbala, under the slogan “Poetry is the Voice of Arabic… and Oratory is its Eternal Heritage.” The competition runs from February 17 to 19, 2026, under the patronage of the Director General of Education in the province.
The initiative forms part of the Directorate’s annual activity plan aimed at reinforcing the status of the Arabic language within the educational ecosystem and activating students’ literary and expressive capabilities through structured competitive platforms. The program is designed to enhance public speaking skills, strengthen self-confidence, and prepare outstanding students for ministerial-level competitions.
In a statement to the Educational Media Office, the Director of the Department of School Activities affirmed that the competition seeks to identify, nurture, and refine emerging literary talents across schools. He noted that students from Karbala have previously achieved advanced results among 24 participating directorates at the national level.
The first day of the final round featured primary school students (boys and girls), with 17 participants competing. The competition will continue with intermediate-level students on the second day and conclude with preparatory-level students on the third day.
The event reflects an institutional commitment to investing in student human capital by transforming literary platforms into structured environments that cultivate linguistic proficiency, intellectual growth, and constructive competitiveness among emerging generations.
